Partnership Programs Overview


Canadian Mechanical Contractors Education Foundation (CMCEF)

Professional Development, University of Waterloo and the Canadian Mechanical Contractors Education Foundation are pleased to offer a 10-day comprehensive course on Project Management designed specifically for mechanical contractors.

This Gold Seal compatible course will include sessions on estimating, communications, administration, scheduling and much more!


Certificate in Project Leadership

Projects need to be led, not just managed. That's why Professional Development, in partnership with IT World Canada, developed the Certificate in Project Leadership. A first in Canada, this professional development certificate uniquely blends the knowledge and skills required for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) exam with additional education and techniques that transform good project managers into truly effective and successful project leaders.


Economic Development Program

The University of Waterloo and the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) have created a long term partnership to deliver a national certification program for practicing professionals and those interested in the broad field of economic development. Community economic development, regional economic development, and sustainable development initiatives all require strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, economic analysis and evaluation tools. A Certificate, Diploma and Fellowship in Economic Development are available through the courses and seminars offered.


The Education Program for Photonics Professionals

The University of Waterloo is pleased to offer a professional education program targeted to scientists and engineers working on photonics-related projects who lack the critical education background in optics and photonics. The education provided is the heart of a bachelor of science in Optics, distilled and packaged in a manageable time-frame and format for the working professional. Through Professional Development, students can complete a portion of this program from home with UWaterloo's online learning system.


Certified Management Accountants of Ontario (CMAO)

The University of Waterloo is pleased to offer courses for Certified Management Accountants seeking additional training in the area of Auditing Practice and Federal Income Taxation. These courses are offered in partnership with the Certified Management Accountants of Ontario (CMAO). These courses qualify as credits towards the requirements for public accounting licensure in Ontario.


uWaterloo Pharmacy - MOAT Primary Care Certificate Program

The University of Waterloo is pleased to offer Professional Development for pharmacists, registered nurses and nurse practitioners. We are currently offering a Primary Care Certificate Program in the Management of Oral Anticoagulation Therapy. This non-credit program is offered in partnership with Professional Development, the School of Pharmacy and the Centre for Family Medicine.
